EBLC gathers top executives and experts
The European Business Leaders’ Convention was founded in 2002 as a forum where top business leaders, experts and politicians could exchange views on European politics and economics in an informal setting. From the beginning, the aim has been to deepen decision makers’ understanding of the most crucial issues affecting European companies and the future of Europe as a whole.
Northern Light Summit – the summer event for top executives in Helsinki
Since 2003, larger summits have been arranged in Helsinki, and smaller discussion events on current issues elsewhere in Europe. The last summit was held summer 2017 under the title “THE NEW WORLD DISORDER”. 140 top-level business leaders from around the world gathered in Helsinki to ponder on the future of Europe in the wake of Brexit, Trump, European elections, the age of Easternisation, to name some. Participants included, among others: Joe Kaeser (Siemens), Johannes Teyssen (E.ON), Henrik Ehrnrooth (KONE), Gideon Rachman (Financial Times), Carl Bildt (European Council of Foreign Relations), Trina Gordon (Boyden) and Caroline Spelman (UK Parliament).
The next summit will be held in Helsinki in the summer of 2018. Participation in all Northern Light events is by invitation only and restricted to the highest-level business leaders and experts. Discussions are off the record unless otherwise indicated. Spouses are invited to join most Northern Light events.
